Rutland Dunn Townline Road Reconstruction

**** NOTICE OF ROAD RECONSTRUCTION & ROAD CLOSURE ****

The Town of Rutland’s 2022 joint road reconstruction project, in conjunction with the Town

of Dunn and the City of Stoughton, will tentatively begin July 5th and end September 2nd, weather dependent.  During this time, the following roads will be closed to thru traffic and will only allow local traffic to residences and businesses on the following roads.  Rutland-Dunn Town Line Rd (from US Hwy 51 to Netherwood Rd)., and Sunrise Rd., Lake Kegonsa Rd., and Starr School Rd. (north from Hwy 138).

We will start by adding a layer of gravel on top of the existing asphalt surface which will be then ground and pulverized together, watered, shaped, and rolled before the new asphalt surface will be applied.  This surface needs a few weeks to harden before shouldering can be done.

During this project, we ask that you drive slowly and carefully and take the shortest distance to the nearest road to get out of the construction area.  Please plan accordingly for possible delays.  This construction project will not affect mail, parcel delivery, emergency services or garbage pickup.  However, please place garbage and recycling cans in your driveway so that they will not interfere with this project.

Property owners are responsible for making adjustments to the placement of their existing USPS mailbox to comply with USPS and Town Mailbox Policy.  All USPS mailboxes are required to have a clearance of 44-inches in height off the ground and be located such that the face of the mailbox is 3 feet from the paved road surface.  This ensures safety of the mail carrier, the motoring public and to help mitigate issues during the reconstruction operations.

Thank you for your cooperation!
